If you didn't know yet, my 3-year-old son is into sharks. This year he asked (many times) to be a "tiger shark with black stripes." I tried to convince Ry to get other costumes but he knew what he wanted so I decided to make it for him for Halloween. Of course, I wanted it to be quick and easy. And the solution was: fabric glue. I'm all about the no sew project on this one since I needed to make two costumes. Last year, my boys were a dino and monkey. This year...tiger sharks! ;-)
Comfy, gray fleece sweat suit was from Walmart. Fabric glue, red, black and white soft felt and stiffen grey felt sheets from Hobby Lobby.
Ran a line of fabric glue along the edge of the hood and pressed the felt down to place. Added a strip of red felt glued over the teeth to add color. Created the belly by trimming white felt to the chest.
Glued the stripes to areas that look good on the suit.
The only thing I needed to sew was the dorsal fins which was sewn down to the back of the sweat shirt. I think I made Ry's fin too big because it was flopping down but he loved it anyway! Ry took my shades and checked his cool fin on the mirror after I completed the project! He looked (adorably) scary! Hehe.
Shadows lurking across the night...

Zo being shy with his little tiger shark costume while big brother greets treat or treaters with his ferocious roar!

And my sister who kept on calling and texting me to come over her house after we were done trick or treating. Crazy girl! Haha. It was great to end the night with her and a couple of friends to meet. ;-)
